Healthy Home Made Granola

This is the only muesli I’ll eat! No added sugar aside from the fruit and a small bit of honey, and no added fat aside from the flaked almonds and healthy seeds. And it’s delicious! It lasts long if kept in a nice airtight container.


4 cups rolled oats

6 Tbs each of sesame and sunflower seeds

2 tsp cinnamon

1 tsp vanilla essence

¾ cup apple juice

¼ cup honey

100 g raw flaked almonds

100 g dried cranberries


Preheat oven to 170ºC

Line a baking tray with baking paper

Combine everything except the almonds and cranberries

Spread out on the baking tray

Bake for 20 min, then give a stir, checking that the granola is evenly distributed

Return to the oven and bake for further 15 min until golden and quite brittle

Remove from oven and allow to cool before breaking up the granola

Add the almonds and the cranberries

Store in an airtight container
